Below you can read more specific suggestions about how you can use Dry-12 DeLuxe with specific fruits, vegetables, etc. The desiccated products, when are stored sealed and away of light, can be preserved more than a year.

I would like to urge you to read all the description below, till the very end!! After this you will be aware of the basics of proper dehydration and you will be able to use any dehydrator like a toy!

alt

The dehydrator Dry-12 DeLuxe is made of Stainless Steel. It has 12 perforated shelves made also from stainless steel. Each shelf has dimensions of 24x35 cm. The computer, the programs, the fan and the resistance, are all the same in all italian six series dehydrators. Also, all six dehydrators have perforated doors in a way that the air passes through them easily, but not the insects.

alt We have to mention that the Dehydrator Dry-12 DeLuxe, as well as Dry-5, Dry-10, Dry-5 Lux, Dry-10 Lux and Dry-6 DeLuxe, can be combined with each other, as you can see at the photos below at the left, with result a bigger dehydrator. What we want to say is that you can buy one Dry-12 DeLuxe and from a second dehydrator (same or bigger, plastic or stainless steel), only the tunnel and the shelves, so as to join them and make a bigger dehydrator. The same thing can be done among all the dehydrators above and in all possible combinations. The factory guarantees excellent results, up to coupling of two big dehydrators. For example two Dry-10 or two Dry-12 DeLuxe.
alt
As well as, if you have already purchased one of the above dehydrators, you can buy one of the following codes (FM0396, FM0397, FM0398, FM0399, FM0400, FM0401), to couple it with yours. Each code is referred to the tunnel with the shelves, of each dehydrator. Click each code to see more details.
As we said before, the power of one fan and the power of one heat unit, exceeds such a combination. But, if you want to accelerate the desiccation, you can switch the position of the fan unit in the middle of the program’s duration.

All our dehydrators have been constructed by Italian and American factories, after years of research. A dehydrator, is not just a box with a fan and a resistance. The proper drying is not so simple. During the drying program is necessary to have:
1st) A mixture of different temperatures, so as, each one to be applied to the product for different time intervals. A proper drying process should have alternations. For example, air of 25 celsius degrees for some time, air of 40 celsius degrees for different time, air of 30 degrees and so on.
2nd)  It is necessary also, during the drying process to have an alternation of different fan speeds, with periods of pause. A proper dehydrator is not just a fan that blows! The fan must have different speeds, for different time intervals, with pause intervals in between.
3rd) Each program must have specific duration.
With the experience that these factories have, have come up and equip the desiccators with 12 smart programs, which are suitable for all foods and capable of all uses. We assure you that either you buy the dehydrator for home use or for professional use, the result will be optimum.

alt Many dehydrators in the market have vertical air flow, from bottom to top. The disadvantage of these devices is that the air introduced from the bottom, quickly is being filled moisture, after contacting the food on the first racks. This moisture is being transferred to the upper shelves of the dehydrator, to the products there, not allowing the uniform drying of all products. Another drawback of the vertical air flow, is that this airflow is blocked by the products at the first shelves. To avoid this, these shelves should not be filled. This, leads to great waste of space, time and energy.
All of these problems are overcome by horizontal airflow and that’s why all the dehydrators we import and sell, use horizontal air flow. In this way, the air is uniformly applied to the entire surface of the products in every rack, thus achieving uniform and quick drying, low temperature necessity, optimum desiccating products and saving energy. Furthermore, the products may and must be spread all over the shelf’s surface, without this causes any restriction to the air flow, but in contrary optimize the desiccation procedure.

Firstly i will introduce you to the basic knowledge you should have about the dehydrators and in general about food dehydrating. Moving on i will mention more specific informations.
Below at this page you may watch two videos. At first video i analyse the function of Italian dehydrations and at the second video we present all the dehydrators we dispose. Below the two videos you can read the video’s speech. This speech is the dehydrators’s manual.

alt The dehydrator (small or big) eliminates from food, only the water. In this way deprives microorganisms the fundamental element for their activity and inhibits their activity, which is the oxidation of food. It does this, by using the air of the environment, in natural temperature or slightly elevated 15-20 degrees.
The dehydrator is thus an apparatus that Accelerates and Improves the Natural drying process. Thus, maintains intact and enhances the redolence, the nutritional and organoleptic characteristics of the food. This is the big difference between dehydrators and drying ovens. Additionally, someone using a dehydrator avoids all the problems of drying in open air, such as insects, changing weather conditions, solar radiation etc. The dried products can be stored for very long periods, without any addition of preservatives. Can be consumed during the year, with all the nutrients intact.

Before move on to the basics you should know to use a dehydrator, we will answer the most frequently asked question: How much time takes for this product, to dry? The answer of the factories is the one and only: There is not a specific drying time for any food. The optimal dehydrating time for each product, will be found by every user, with the experience acquired. This optimal dehydrating time will be referred to the place the dehydration took place, the state of the product (thickness, shape, humidity content, ripening) and the micro-climatic conditions of each use (air’s temperature and humidity content). The experience will make you the best teacher. Anyone gives a different answer, simply does not know about dehydrators and proper dehydration.

alt

Therefore, we provide below useful informations concerning the appropriate use of a dehydrator. But, as we already mentioned, apart from the basic rules to be followed, the following informations should be considered as advices - proposals, which can be modified according to personal tastes and microclimate conditions of use.

  • The dehydrator should be placed in a large, open, well ventilated and without moisture room. In this way the outgoing from dehydrator, moist air, will not stagnate but vanish. The dehydrator can be placed in any bench, table or onto the ground.
  • The pieces of each batch should be cut at the same thickness, so as to achieve the same desiccate time for all shelves. The best thickness is between 3-15 mm. The thinner a slice, the shorter the drying time. Of course, the thickness of the slice affects the final taste and feel of the product. Therefore, there is not an ideal thickness, but a balance between taste and drying time should be looking for.
  • All the dehydrator’ s shelves must be filled with products. The products should be placed uniformly. If some parts or entire shelf is empty, the most of the air will diffuse into the void. If you put different products to dry, it is better to place the more watery at the bottom. Of course, you have also to check the drying progress, because there will be differences at drying time of each product.
  • The products to be desiccated, should be washed, clean and dry before place them into the dehydrator.
  • Fruits and vegetables should be fresh and not too ripe.
  • The peel of some products (apples, pears, grapes) is designed by nature to prevent water from coming out of the interior of the fruit and furthermore, is the home of many insect eggs. These problems get solved by putting the fruits in boiling water for 30-60 seconds, before cutting them in slices.
  • If products are too small or tiny, such as seeds, pollen, etc. you can place on the shelves, paper towel.
  • Before each use, close both doors of dehydrator. The doors are like louvers. They permit the airflow but not the insects.
  • Check, at least twice a day the process to avoid sticking the slices to the shelves or among them. Periodically turn side the slices.
  • alt
  • When the products have been desiccated, collect them directly or if you busy, leave the dehydrator on the maintenance status (we’ll talk about it below) and collect when you find the time. In this way we are sure that our products will not reabsorb moisture. The desiccated products can be stored either in paper or in plastic bags or in glass jars. You should store in places with low humidity and no light. In this way the drying products could be preserved over a year. If indeed the products will be stored into vacuum, can be preserved for much longer.
  • The shelves can be washed either by hand with a normal dishwashing liquid or in the dishwasher. From the rest of the device just remove the dust. Especially from the doors, so the air can be inserted and come out freely.
  • Before first use wash thoroughly the shelves, wipe with a damp cloth the tunnel inside out and dust off the doors. When dry, put the dehydrator into operation for three hours and then you’re ready to go!
  • Finally, i would like to repeat that the drying time for each product, but also for the same product, varies very much, because it depends on many factors such as air humidity, thickness, water content, initial food moisture etc.

alt Before moving on, i would like to mention two features of the dehydrator, that make it, as well the others in the series, the most flexible and practical of the global market. As i said and will also analyze below, you can choose one of the 12 smart programs. Each program is suitable for analog product. Each program has a maximum temperature and a specific duration. Yet, the drying of a product depends on many factors. For this reason, the manufacturer has given the flexibility to the user to choose by himself, if he wants and if he considers it appropriate, the duration of each program.
alt This can be done as follows: At any time, during any program, press the button SET and hold it for about 5 seconds. You see then at the screen the symbol 00 flashing (as in the photo at the left). Before the symbol stop flashing, press the button SET as many times as necessary to display the desired number of hours. You can select one of the options 01-02-03-04-05-06-08-10-12-14-16-18-20-24-28-32-36-40-44-48. After selecting the desired number of hours release the button. The program that you had previously selected, continues to run, with its duration the only change. When the duration you chose reached the end, then the dehydrator automatically enters the Maintenance Status, regardless if it is scheduled to enter the Maintenance Status to its end or not.
alt The second great feature of this series is the function Maintenance Status. Let me first mention two examples. We've selected a program and it reaches the end. If you do not have time to collect the dried product, whatever it is, will reabsorb moisture, relatively quickly. Also, as we said, the drying time for each product depends on many non-stable microclimate factors. Also, the preferences of each user on the degree of drying of each product, vary. Therefore, each user may want to stop any program at a different time from the program’s duration. Even more, at that moment he wants to stop the dehydrator, does not have the time to collect.
All these problems are solved by the function of Maintenance Status. The user, at any time, in any program, may just press and hold the SET button for about 5 seconds. On dehydrator’s screen the symbol 00 starts flashing. Release the SET button and after two or three seconds you will see on the screen the symbol you can see at the left. At that moment the dehydrator enters the Maintenance Status. What is this?! It is a function while the dehydrator works to the minimum, so just to prevent the product to reabsorb moisture. The product, remains at the drying level that reached at the moment that the dehydrator entered the Maintenance Status. So we have unlimited time, until we find the time to collect the product from the dehydrator to the desired drying level.

Below you can see proposals about which product to use with specific food. As i mentioned before, you could experiment also with the other programs and finally choose the one you like the most.
Let me show you now how you choose a program. Plug in the dehydrator. The dehydrator now is in stand-by mode. Press the button SET as many as to choose the desired program. Then press the on/off button. The program begins. Do you want to stop the program? Press on/off button. Do you want to unplug the dehydrator? Press on/off button, wait until the fun stops and unplug the dehydrator.

alt Apricots: It is better to cut in half and to remove the stone. If it is too ripe, is likely tanning. In any case, the result ensures excellent flavor and aroma. The dried product may be consumed directly or used for the preparation of sweets, compositions etc. The program that is proposed is, T4/T5 for 48/60 hours, depending on size.
alt Pineapple: Peel and slice at thickness 6-8 mm. Periodically, turn the slices to prevent them from adhering to the bottom. The more watery the pineapple is, the greater will be the length of drying. The result is an excellent product in appearance, flavor and aroma. Direct consumption or ingredient in salads and compositions. Program proposed is T4 for24 hours.
alt Oranges: Slices or sticks. Not too ripe. Slices of thickness 5 mm or cut the peel into strips of your choice. Periodically, turn the slices to prevent them from adhering to the bottom. Ideal for cake decoration, dishes, artistic works, especially for Christmas decorations. The program proposed is the P4 for 18-24 hours.
alt Bananas: Cut into slices or pieces. Periodically, turn the slices upside down, because they tend to stick to the bottom of the shelf or between them. They tend to turn brown, but maintain their strong flavor. They remain soft and slightly sticky, because they contain much sugar. Ideal for direct consumption, snacks and refreshments. Concentrated taste, flavors and nutrients. Ideal for children. The program proposed is P1 for 18-24 hours.
alt Persimmon: Cut into slices 5-6 mm thick. You can dry all varieties, before the persimmons get soft. The astringency of persimmons get lost after drying. Excellent for direct consumption and various compositions. Persimmons keep the nice color. The program proposed is P2.
alt Cherries: Destoning them and cutting them in half, the taste and aroma intensifies. The result is excellent for all kinds of beverages, candy, potpourri and of course for direct consumption. The program proposed is P1.
alt Kiwi: Peel and slice at thickness 6-8 mm or chop the kiwi lengthwise into 4 slices. Spread well and turn the slices upside down to avoid sticking. Dried product of a distinctive color, intense flavor and a bit of astringency. It can be consumed directly or preferably among other fruits or salad. Ideal for compositions. The program proposed is P2.
alt Figs: Split in half. Better to be ripe and dry. Consume directly or add to fruit salads or desserts. Cut into pieces, ideal for compositions. The program that is proposed is T4/T5 for 48/60 hours, depending on size.
alt Apples: Cut into slices 5-6 mm thick. Intact or after removing peel and trunk. Consume directly or add to desserts. Rich in finer, especially if desiccated with peel. The program proposed is P2.
alt Pears: Like apples. Varieties with small sizes can be cut in two. Perfect for direct consumption, but also for salads, cakes and compositions. The program proposed is P2.
alt Peaches & Nectarines: Cut in half if small, or in slices or wedges if big. Turn upside down often. Excellent for direct consumption. The program proposed is P1.
alt Plums: Cut in half and pitted, or whole after immersion in boiling water for 30-60 seconds. Excellent for direct consumption or sweets components or for artistic compositions. You can also boil them for a few minutes in a little water and drink it as a light laxative. The program proposed is T4/T5 for 30/48 hours, depending on the size or the program P6 if you placed it as whole.
alt Grapes: The desiccation is very slow because the peel is very impermeable to water. You can speed up the process by boiling the bunches for 10-20 seconds after you have diluted them a bit. The program proposed is T4 for 36-48 hours.
alt Parsley: Place the leaves so that are not overlapping. Periodically invert them. Excellent as powder, as well as oily preparations. The program proposed is P3 for 12-16 hours.
alt Spinach: Place leaves whole or in pieces. Move them often to avoid overlap. The product can be used in risotto, omelets and more. The program proposed is P3 for 12-16 hours.
alt Zucchini: If small and young, cut into rings. If larger cut in small pieces or cubes, after firstly you have got rid of the central pulp. Suitable for side dishes or soups. Especially delicious with oil. The program proposed is P2 for 8-12 hours.
alt Pumpkin: Remove seeds, remove the peel and cut into slices or cubes. Ideal for risotto, soups and more. The program proposed is T3 for 24 hours.
alt Potatoes: Sliced or square bars 8-10 mm. Flip for not sticking. Their surface can be blackened without altering the taste. Among other things, you can add it in soups, side dishes, etc. You can pack them with other vegetables, so as to make later soups at once. The program proposed is T3 for 24 hours.
alt Savoy Cabbage: Cut and apply. No need for specific dimensions. Ideal for soups snd stews. The program proposed is P1 for 16-20 hours.
alt Chili: The skin is a little impenetrable, so for having excellent results, cut the peppers lengthwise in half. Add the result in small pieces or as powder, to assign spicy aromas in various recipes. The program proposed is P4 for 18 hours, for fast and crisp results. The program T4 is used if you want maintain their full flavors.
alt Peppers: Cut into pieces or strips. Are desiccated easily. The program proposed is T4 for 12-18 hours.
alt Tomatoes: Prefer medium to small tomatoes. Tomatoes are among the most difficult and slow drying vegetables because they are watery. But, they give excellent results. Some varieties when they are very mature, they tend to turn brown and look like burnt. Yet, they keep completely intact their taste. If you want ideal desiccation, cut them in half, do not add salt and do not drain. In this way, they keep intact all the vitamins and nutrients. They can be used in all recipes, soups, sauces, side dishes etc. Excellent with oil and herbs of your choice, such as basil, oregano, garlic etc. The program proposed is T4/T5 for 30/48 hours.
alt Aromatic plants & Herbs: Chamomile, peppermint, calendula, rosemary, basil, thyme, lemon balm, sage, stinging nettle, etc. The best results are achieved by leaving the leaves whole. The program proposed is P3 for 12-24 hours.
alt Mushrooms: Clean them without water and cut into slices of about 5 mm. The program proposed is P2.
alt Pasta: The duration of drying depends on the manner of preparation, pasta type, thickness and the presence of filling. The program proposed is P5.
alt Meat: The most suitable meat is lean. Fats tend to melt, preventing the success of the process and quality of the final product. Processing time varies greatly and depends on the type and thickness of the meat treated. The program proposed is P4.
alt Fishes: White coregonus, lavaretus, shad etc. Treat as meat. The treatment time varies widely and depends on the variety and size. The program proposed is P4.
alt Meringues: Apply oven paper onto the shelves. Prepare the dough and place the meringues inside the dehydrator. The program proposed is P4 for 18-24 hours.

Below you can watch the video in which we present and analyze the function of Dry-5 & Dry-6 DeLuxe Dehydrators.

Below you can watch the video in which we present all the dehydrators we sell.

You can read below, the speech of my first of the two videos above.
In fact, this speech is the Manual of all Italian Dehydrators:
Dry-5, Dry-10, Dry-5 Lux, Dry-10 Lux, Dry-6 DeLuxe & Dry-12 DeLuxe.

Hello. My name is Dimtsas Ioannis. During the video i present the Dehydrators Dry-5 and Dry-6 DeLuxe. Everything i say applies also for the Dehydrators Dry-10, Dry-5 Lux, Dry-10 Lux & Dry-12 DeLuxe. Both dehydrators are made totally in Italy. We import directly from Italy and we sell them from our website www.dimtsas.eu.

Both dehydrators have the same structure.

Each dehydrator consists of:
a) Τhe main body or tunnel. Inside the tunnel there are guides where the shelves are placed and can be moved back and forth. The model Dry-5 has tunnel made of ABS, while the Dry-6 DeLuxe is made of stainless steel. The ABS material is 30 times more durable than common plastic, very resistant to chemicals and is not affected by temperature changes. Is widely used in recent years, by the industries of weapons, rackets golf, lego games, electrical appliances, playgrounds, helmets for motorbikes and bicycles and many more.
b) Two removable doors. One of the doors has a fan, a resistance and a computer integrated. The fan forces air to the shelves. The resistance accelerates the drying process, particularly when using the dehydrator in cold periods or periods with high humidity and especially with very watery products. The computer regulates the operation, by selecting one of the 12 smart programs. For the programs will talk later. The second door just closes the second opening of the tunnel. The doors close with the help of magnets. The doors are perforated in such a way that permit the air to pass easily but not the insects. In all models the doors are the same and constructed from ABS.
c) Perforated shelves upon which we put the products. In Dry-5 the perforated shelves are 5 and made of ABS, while the Dry-6 DeLuxe has 6 perforated shelves made of stainless steel.

Both dehydrators have the same external dimensions 46x27x27 cm (Length x Width x Height) and the same internal dimensions 46x25x25 (Length x Width x Height). The shelves also have the same dimensions 35x24 cm. At the Dry-5 the shelves have greater height than the shelves in Dry-6, so into Dry-5 fit 5 shelves while into Dry-6 fit 6 shelves. Thus, the total drying surface in Dry-5 is 4300 sq. cm, while the drying surface in Dry-6 is 5200 sq. cm.
Both dehydrators have the same resistance with maximum power 480 watt. Its activation is regulated from the computer.

During operation, the dehydrator expels moisture which should not stagnate in the surroundings, something that will slow down or even prevent the entire drying process. Therefore, the dehydrator should be placed in large and well ventilated rooms. Generally, wet environments should be avoided.

As for washing, racks can be washed with hot water and detergent. You can wash them either by hand or in a dishwasher. Regarding the main body - tunnel, you can clean it using a damp cloth and mild detergent. Never wash the door with the fan! Periodically dust the doors, for the air to flow easily. Before first use, wash thoroughly tunnel and shelves.

How to Use

alt The operation of the dehydrator is done through the control panel located on the dehydrator door.
The control panel can be divided into four parts.
1) The button set.
2) The button on/off.
3) The central display.
4) The illuminated label around the main display with 12 possible programs.

As we mentioned our dehydrators are single-phase. When plug in the dehydrator, the main display lights up. If we had shut off the dehydrator while was working, then when the dehydrator turns on, the main display lights on the program during shut. The dehydrator does not work but is in stand-by state. To start it, firstly we must choose the desired program. We do this with SET button. Press it as many times as the display shows the desired program. Lets press it two times. At the display we see the program P3. Then, we press the on/off button and the dehydrator starts. During the program operation, at the main display we see alternately every 5 seconds, the temperature of the air that flows inside the dehydrator and the program letter. As you noticed i said temperature of the air, not of the products! The temperature of the products is always lower than air’s. If any moment we want to see which program running and we don’t want to wait until its letter be displayed, press the SET button once.

Do you want to unplug the dehydrator? Firstly press on/off button once and then unplug. Never unplug while on operation. Firstly press on/off button to stop the program and unplug the dehydrator.

Do we want to change the current working program? Firstly press on/off button, then press SET button as many times as to choose the program you want and then press on/off button.

You will notice many times, just you press on/off button, either if you want to change program or if you want to unplug the dehydrator, that the fan starts automatically and intensively to work for some seconds. Simultaneously at the display you will see this symbol (click here to see it). In these cases you should wait some seconds till the fan stops and the symbol disappears from the display. Then move on and do what you want. This happens because the internal temperature is over 45 celsius degrees and therefore the dehydrator is preprogrammed to start the fan for some seconds so the temperature drops.

Something more. All the programs have a specific duration. For example, the program is currently running (P4), has duration 14 hours. If we press on/off button one moment during its operation, then stays in memory and when we press on/off button again, the dehydrator starts the program P4 from the moment we stopped it. This does not happen when we press the on/off button and then unplug the device. When we unplug the device the memory resets. The reset happens also when we change program.

Summing up this far: Plug the Dehydrator, we are on stand-by mode. Choose the desirable program with SET button and press on/off button. The dehydrator starts working on the desirable program. Do you want to stop the program? Just press on/off button. Do you want to unplug the dehydrator? Press on/off, wait a few seconds so the fan stops (if gets started) and unplug the dehydrator.

Let’s say something more and simultaneously do an introduction to programs. At the table that you see on your screen (click here to see it) you can see all the possible programs. The table consists of 5 columns. At the first column you can read the program’s name, at the second column there is the program’s code letter that appears at the display, at the third column there is the program’s duration, at the forth column is written the maximum temperature that the air inside the dehydrator reaches during that program and at the fifth column is written if the program after its duration falls to Maintenance status.

What does Maintenance status mean? Simply what the word does say. It maintains the product at the dehydrated state that this is, when the dehydrator starts to operate at this maintenance state.
Let’s give an example to realise how useful this is. Suppose we use the drying program P4. As we can see at the table its duration is 14 hours. The program ends but we are busy enough to collect it. We leave it inside the dehydrator and unplug it until to find the time to collect it. Very bad mistake! Our product will absorb humidity. The Maintenance state does not let this happen. At this state the dehydrator works at the minimum energy consumption, preventing the food from absorbing moisture.
There is more! If we think, with our experience, that our product has reached the desirable drying state, let’s say at the 10th hour of P4 and we don’t want to leave it to be desiccated other 4 hours till the program P4 ends, but also we are busy to collect it, what we do!? Press and hold SET button for 3-4 seconds. The dehydrator falls to the Maintenance state. At the display we see this specific symbol. Click here to see it. In this operation, our product will be preserved at the drying state it reached, when the dehydrator fell to the Maintenance state. And it will be preserved at that exactly drying state for as many hours or days our dehydrator works at the maintenance status. Until we find the time to collect our product from inside the dehydrator.
Namely, we can at any moment during dehydrator’s program, to press and hold the SET button. At the display we’ll see the symbol (click here to see it) and we’ll realise that the dehydrator has entered at the Maintenance Status.

Let’s see the programs one by one.

alt The program Automatic or General. This program with symbol P1, is the most flexible. If it is your first time with a dehydrator or you don’t know which program to use to dry a specific food, choose this program. As you can see at the Table (click here to see it), Program P1 lasts 30 hours with maximum air temperature 50 celsius degrees. Also, you can see that when ends, the dehydrator enters at the Maintenance status. So, when you are not busy you can collect the product. The product will remain dry.

At this point we must say that all programs have been designed taking into account basic parameters that play an important role in the drying process.
First of all. When we say dehydrate or dry or desiccate, we mean that we remove the moisture from inside the food, keeping intact all nutrients and organoleptic characteristics.
Therefore, when we want to desiccate a product, it is a mistake to take for example a fan that blows at a specific temperature. The right drying is not so simple. It is essential to the drying process exists: 1st) A mixture of different temperatures that each, must be applied to the product for different durations. At the drying process must exist alternations. 2nd) It is necessary to exist alternations of speed fans, with pause periods. 3rd) Each program must have specific duration. For these reasons these are called smart programs.
All 12 smart programs have been programmed on the basis of these parameters.

The program P2 is the most suitable for mushrooms and products cut into thin slices (4-6 mm) such as apples, eggplants, kiwi, pineapple etc. The P2 lasts 18 hours with maximum air temperature of 45 celsius degrees. This program P2 as P1, when ends, enters to the maintenance status.

The program P3 or Bio. In this program the air temperature does not exceed 40 celsius degrees, satisfying them who have a diet without cooked food. It is also an excellent choice to dry fresh medical herbs. As we see at the table, it does not have specific duration. We stop it, when the products inside dehydrator, reach at the desirable drying level. We realise here that when a program has unlimited duration, it is reasonable not to enter to maintenance status.

The program P4 or Maximum temperature is the warmest program. Reaches the limits of cooking! If you need a quick drying program, choose this program for maximum yield in minimum time. Also it is the best program to process meat, because the high temperature prevents bacteria from proliferation. With this program you should not dry sensitive foods, which loose quality due to high temperature. It is also an excellent choice for the second baking that someone wants to do to oranges or hot peppers etc, to which gives a crunchy consistency. Finally, it is the best to prepare meringues, the creation of which in the oven would require a delicate and prolonged process in the oven. Its precise temperature prevents unwanted burnings, while we use our oven for a simultaneous use. The P4 has duration of 14 hours and reaches maximum temperature of 68 celsius degrees. When ends, enters to the maintenance status.

The program P5 or Pasta, is a program created especially to preserve fresh pasta. Of course, you should be careful so as to achieve the desired level of drying, as well for different type of pasta. Its duration is 16 hours and has maximum temperature of 60 celsius degrees. When finishes, enters to maintenance status.

The program P6 or Economy, is aimed at those who pay particular attention to ecology, in their wallet or to those that use simultaneously many electrical devices. It is also perfect to use it in camping or hotels where the use of electricity is limited. This program absorbs maximum 270 watt of power. The maximum temperature reaches 45 degrees, while the duration is unlimited. We stop it whenever we want.

The program P7 or Silent, is the most appropriate for night use or to use the dehydrator in the workplace. The fan speed is designed to have the maximum noise reduction with no reduction in performance. It is ideal also for all lightweight and tiny products like saffron, foil, herbs etc. With other program, such products would fly inside the dehydrator. Its duration is 48 hours and reaches at maximum temperature of 45 celsius degrees. When finishes enters at maintenance status. To fill the racks with tiny products you can use paper towels. You will spread paper towel on the shelves and onto it you will place the products to be desiccated.

For anyone who wants more control over the temperature, the dehydrators have programs T1 to T5. These programs are also smart. Alternate temperature and fan speed, without exceeding the maximum temperature at which have been scheduled. Thereby guarantee also the best results.

There are no time limits. The dehydrators in all programs of use can work unlimited.

Before close our analysis, let’s emphasise again some points.

The same product can react differently to the same dried program, because of different dimensions, different water content or due to different temperature and humidity of the room where the dehydrator is placed. It is advisable therefore to do some tests with the products you’re going to dry, so as to define the perfect preparation of the product, the right program and its duration.

All programs, recommended appropriate uses and possible best results, depends on that the products to be desiccated should be fresh, well-washed and dried. Dehydrators should also be placed in well ventilated locations without humidity. Fruits and vegetables should be fresh and not too ripe. The pieces of each batch should be cut, as possible, at the same thickness. All racks should be evenly filled. If some places or shelves are empty, most of the air will diffuse into the void. If products are tiny as seeds, pollen etc, paper towel can be placed upon the racks. Always close both doors. It is recommended to check the process at least twice a day, to avoid clings to the racks or between the products. You could also turn the slices upside down. Finally, because the peel of some products such as apples, pears, grapes etc, is designed by nature to prevent the water from coming out of the fruit, but is also the home of many insects eggs, before you cut it, you should dive these foods in boiling water for 30-60 seconds.

Finally, i would like to emphasise again that our dehydrators Accelerate and Improve the natural drying process. The dehydrators use the natural air flow and that distinguishes them from drying ovens. Abstract only the water, keeping intact nutrients, flavours and organoleptic characteristics of foodstuffs. Using a dehydrator, the problems of drying in open environment such as insects, sunlight and changing of weather conditions, are avoided.
