Waffle Iron Petromax PR0039

Made in PRC

The Waffle Iron Petromax produced in China from the Germany company Petromax. The Waffle Iron Petromax is the ideal tool to prepare waffles and desserts at the campfire, on the barbecue or in the fireplace.

The Waffle Iron Petromax has two cast iron baking surfaces suitable for two waffles 9x11 cm. The practical locking hook keeps the waffle moulds together, so that the dough does not flow out. The wooden handles fit comfortably in the hand, and the long rod ensures enough distance from the source of heat.

The Waffle Iron Petromax can be used immediately thanks to the pre-seasoned surface that provides a natural non-stick effect, which improved at each use because a patina forms. Moreover, the cast iron distributes and stores heat outstandingly. Once the cast iron has been heated, the stored residual heat can be used for baking gently. The dough in the Waffle Iron Petromax will is baked evenly and turns brown.

Use the Waffle Iron Petromax to bake yours homemade waffles and surprise friends and family at the next garden or barbeque party or around the fireplace. Fill the cast iron moulds with waffle dough, place the Waffle Iron Petromax over the fire, turn once and the waffles are ready to enjoy them.

Seasoning in the Petromax Cast Iron Cookware

The protective layer, patina, of the Petromax Cast Iron Cookware must be renewed when it is affected. It can happen, for instance, that your cast iron cookware starts to rust here and there, because it was not stored correctly. In that case, proceed as follows:

  • Remove the rust with a wire brush or a metallic sponge. Then clean the Petromax Cast Iron Cookware with warm water, dishwashing liquid and a dishwashing brush or a sponge. Dry it thoroughly up.
  • Coat the whole cast iron skillet with neutral oil, vegetable fat or the Care Conditioner for Cast and Wrought Iron.
  • Then place the Petromax Cast Iron Cookware in a preheated oven at a temperature of approx. 180°C. Let it there for 1 to 2 hours and then switch off the oven. Half-open the oven and let the cast iron cookware cool down.
  • Caution! Burning the layer of fat can produce smoke. Therefore we recommend doing the seasoning outside, for instance on an open fire or on a grill.
  • Grease all the parts again once they have cooled down.

Safety Instructions for the Petromax Cast Iron Cookware

  • Caution! The Petromax Cast Iron Cookware can become very hot.
  • Thus children should not be allowed near it.
  • Protect your hands with heat-resistant gloves or with silicone pot holders.
