An important clue is that during the pouring of the milk inside the Giumi there was the possibility of draining the milk in order to clean it from dust and hairs. The Giumi is one of the most important items for cowmen and stock-farmers. The word Giumi is of Turkish origin and basically means copper container. There were big traditional milk cans - ‘Giumi’ and smallest ones that used to be called Giumaki. Giumaki was suitable for home use.
