The Clay Casserole 5.5 Liters Beige is made of clay and it is glazed inside and outside. Both clay and glaze are made of materials suitable for food contact, lead-free and cadmium-free. They are certified by our own laboratories as well as by the EFET laboratory, according to European Union specifications. The Clay Casserole 5.5 Liters Beige has fired at 1.100 °C and is resistant to high temperature, without limits. The Clay Casserole 5.5 Liters Beige has been decorated with elaborate embossed designs.

Useful Tips for Proper Use

  • Before the first use (and only the first use) we soak the Clay Dutch Oven, in the water for half an hour.
  • Cook only over low heat.
  • Never put the Clay Dutch Oven on the heat without content.
  • Never put the Clay Dutch Oven on the electric hob.
  • In the first five - six times the Clay Dutch Oven should be washed only with hot water and soda. Do not use detergents nor dishwasher.
  • The Clay Dutch Oven must dry very well, before store.
  • Attention to the rapid temperature changes.

Traditional Recipes in Clay Cookware

 

Pork Roasted:
    Ingredients:
  • 3 Kilos Pork Meat.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt.
  • Pepper.
  • Oregano.
  • 1 Onion Grated.
    Method:
  • Wash the pork and blent with the seasoning and the grated onion.
  • Put all the ingredients into the clay cookware and roast at slow heat for about 2 hours.

 

Traditional Kebab:
    Ingredients:
  • 3 kilos Meat
    (Lamp, Goat, Mutton, Hogget).
  • 2 Garlic Cloves.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt.
  • Oregano.
  • Pepper.
  • Allspice.
    Method:
  • Wash the meat and dust with the seasoning.
  • Stir all the ingredients and put them into the clay cookware.
  • Grade the 2 garlic cloves, cover the clay cookware with the clay lid and roast in middle heat.
  • If we have time, it is good to mix the spices a day before.

 

Roast Lamb with Season:
    Ingredients:
  • 1.5 Kilo Lamp (front).
  • 2 Cups Olive Oil.
  • 1-2 Lemons.
  • Oregano.
  • Salt.
  • Pepper.
    Method:
  • Wash the meat and dust with salt, pepper and oregano.
  • Put the seasoned meat into the clay cookware and pure the olive oil and the lemon juice.
  • Preheat the oven to a middle heat and then put the clay cookware. When it starts to roasted add 1 cup of water.
  • Roast all the ingredients well.

 

Greek stuffed vegetables with rice and ground meat:
    Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Rice.
  • 6 medium Tomatoes.
  • 6 medium Green Bell Peppers.
  • 2 big Onions.
  • 1.5 Kilo ground Beef.
  • 2 Cups Olive Oil.
  • Oregano.
  • Pepper.
  • Spearmint.
  • Parsley.
    Method:
  • First grade the onions, the tomatoes flesh, the spearmint, the parsley and the salt and then sauté all of them in olive oil.
  • Sauté until golden and then add the rice and 1 cup of water.
  • Then add some oregano, a little pepper and fill with the stuff the tomatoes and peppers.
  • Then put them in the clay cookware, adding 2 cups of water and put it in the oven.
